Well the only bad thing about Diablo is everyone goes the exact same way on every character to "max" pvping. I myself always make a hydra sorc as there are not many of them (if any) but go the way you like. Dont listen to other people about what class you need to be. Play for fun not for end game pvping. Just to warn you the grind to level 70-99 is a pain.

Edit: To the guy below me I just assumed he is on Diablo 2 LOD...well because he said he has a druid..come on did you not read?

Sorcs are great but a high level druid is even better. If u like pvp go with a sorc but if dungeon runs r your thing go with the druid. With a barbarian get accustomed to clicking a lot really fast lol I hate it. By the way D2 lod is arguably the best game ever made with a lot more players you might want to check it out. If ur computer is up to date WoW is awesome also.

At lvl 8 and 2 you really dont need to worry about it. A druid will be kick-as but you need the right gear and need to decide if you want to be shape shift or elemental. Elemental you do the wind skills or fire but most often not both. Shape shift you do a ware wolf or bear and kick-as.

I personally do not like sorcs because they get usless in hell unless you have godly gear.
My top chars- PVM Hammer Pally, Max block and some gear you will be able to hell rush no prob.
PVP Bone Necro, I hate necros but they can get the cast rate and dmg to be godly in PVP, with bone walls curses and bone skills they kill.
PVP 2nd FOH'er Unstoppable dmg that you don't have to target? Yeah but they need godly gear and if foe sorbs you are SOL.

On the original Diablo, there is no difference between the characters. The advantage of starting with the warrior is that you have high armour/ defence in the beginning until you can build up your magic.

the druid is awesome at the higher levels....if your talking Diablo 2 .... it all boils down to taste...the barbarian is tough but its mostly hack n slash...myself i like to use magic as well...so I shy away from the barbarian class...but they are all fun to play as...
