how many servers are live right now and how many players about are still playing halo 2?

I want to buy halo 2 but only if there are still ppl playing online and when is halo 3 coming out does anyone know? for the xbox

dfinitley get H2 when H3 comes out only the rich and fortunate (okay maybe not "only")will be able to play, because not everyone has a 360.

There will be tons of people still playing H2 i know people who still play H1

However if you're going to play H2 online? you'll need to download the download content available before actually going on "Live" There it has updates necessary for gameplay. If you join a party and they're going to Relic and you dont have the map on your "Box" then you can't play.

It sucks too, you get a good streak going and you're kicking @$$ and then your friend doesn't have a map, so he gets kicked out the party.

There are still a lot of people playing Halo 2 and playing all different types of the games too. Halo 3 beta is not even open yet so I would give it another year or two to come out.(maybe not that long but will be some time)

Its definetly worth it to buy Halo2. Halo 3 dosen't come out untill late this year (November I think).TONS of people still play Halo 2. I for one love the game. UNFORTUNETLY, lots of people like me don't have Xbox 360s. So were stuck playing Halo 2 =). You should buy the map pack though. You can find it at local game stores used for less than 10 bucks. It will give you around 6-8 maps (I think). The matchmaking on Live almost ALWAYS puts you on one of those maps so you need the Map Pack.
