Adopting babies from a foreign country is easier than adopting within the US. In the US by the time everything is finalized and they let you adopt the child he/she is 2 or 3 years old. Some people adopt because they like children but do not want to actually give birth to one or can not give birth to one. Some people may do it for PR reasons, which is disgusting and they will find out was a big mistake soon enough. Besides, alot of the children being adopted by celebrities are from extremely poor impoverished countries and the life they will have now is something they never would have even dreamed of. I think it's great to adopt a child that may not have had a great life or even a real chance at life had that person not come along.. if they sincerely care and will give the child a good home and love it I'm all for it. If I had the money to support a bunch of kids I might do that myself.

Maybe these people actually care about others. Maybe they have compassion and caring. Why is it, that every time a celeb does something good people attack them??? They are damned if they do, and damned if they don't. It's not our place to harshly judge them for doing what they think is right, and what's more important is that these kids will certainly have a better life than they would in some third world country where they can't get health care, or clean water. Comparing a human being, a helpless child to a cheap pair of sun glasses is not acceptable.

I dont mind certain celebs who adopt, because I believe they are doing it for the right reasons. The one celeb who annoys me is Angelina Jolie, and that is because she is sick and emotionally warped. She couldnt hold her life together so she started to adopt herself a family. Instead of focusing on making the first adopted child happy and balanced, she decided to adopt another baby to add to her collection, and instead of give that baby attention, she decided to pop out her own token love child with Brad, but then it doesnt stop there, that baby isnt allowed to be the center of attention because now she has a new kid from vietname. Someone needs to stop this woman because children are not collectors items, and she doesnt seem to give a crap about basic child psychology. Its all about her and what she wants, not about whats good for the children. I hope the children dont grow up with any major issues due to her cold fish personality.

LOTS of people adopt from foreign countries - it's not just celebrities. The adoption process in the US is very difficult and expensive.
Hey, if someone is willing to give a child a good home, I see no problem with it.

It's tabloid fodder. Non celebrities do it too. I know one couples who adopted a child from Russia and another that adopted one from China. The only difference is they were not followed around by camera crews because they don't sell papers.

Basically they are using their celebrity status and being photographed non-stop to show the world what is really going on out there. Think about it.. Which is more prudent.. seeing a star on the cover of Star or seeing a star on the cover of Time with an adopted child under arm? I would rather be photographed adopting a child or fighting for someone less fortunate than myself.

extremely advantageous, as long as that's no longer in effortless terms a exposure stunt. besides the actuality that, with their important wealth, those 'celebrities' ought to open total orphanages, or help thousands (or tens of millions?) of needy toddlers in various of techniques. Why basically supply up at adopting one baby or perhaps in effortless terms a handful of youngsters. they have a duty to proportion their wealth extra, with persons that relatively choose it.

It does seem odd given that there is no shortage of American babies and children to be adopted.
My guess is that it is PR, not a desire for parenthood. Most of the people don't raise their own kids. They have nannies, cooks, butlers, chauffeurs, and other staff who do the day-to-day work for them.
The most unfortunate transactions are those where the birth parents knowingly sell their baby to the celebrity.
