Macs do not get viruses (at the moment). It is true that security companines have made proof-of-concept viruses for the mac, but there isn't any currently known mac viruses out in the "wild". As mentioned above, no system is completely immune to viruses, and it is probably only a matter or time before viruses begin to target Macs...

The reason that apple or mac operating os does not tend to acquire viruses is because the most percentage of people use Intel based windows applications. That being said if you were to write a virus to affect many people with it you would most likely write it for windows. That is why mac does not get many viruses.

No it is not true... Mac Os's are susceptible Virus, however they are program in an completely different language then the Popular Windows platform.. So because there are only 6% of the world using Mac's, and virus writers have to program a virus in the Mac language they are far less virus floating around for Mac's, then the well used Windows Operating System!
