I have a 2000 dodge stratus recently when I would break I would feel the car woble. Today when I tried to go reverse the car would not go it only made a screaching noise...I dont see any visable damage to the rear tires which seem to be the ones not moving what could this be?

your stratus in front wheel drive. if the rears are locked up it is a brake problem. The wobble you feel when braking is due to warped front brake rotors. Sounds like it has been awhile since a mechanic inspected your vehicle. i would recommend taking it to a reputable shop and having the vehicle checked out!

hi, the woble or shakes when you brake tells that the brake rotors are warpped. sudden change to temperature or bad caliper or the wheels lug nuts are over too tight, could warp it.. about the screaching noise, make sure the emergency /parking brake is totally off.. or if the rear brakes been adjusted too tight it could also lock up when in reverse.

you say the back tires not moving?maybe the emergency brake is stuck.does it act like it wants to move?if so,then jack up the rear and see if you can spin the tires.

you have a problem with your transmission. Check transmission oil. I think you have to fix or replace it
