Could it be the word rainbows, written as two words?
The letters t and r can be mistaken for one another if the handwriting isn't very clear.

It would make sense: You're sad now or you may feel like crying (making the writer think of rain) but you will feel happy or loved and feel the sunshine in your life again.
Sun shining through rain gives you the rainbow -- your life will still have brightness in it.

I'm sorry you're going through this hard time.

Maybe if that person typed it, it was a typo because the letter R is right next to the letter T so they meant to click the letter R but clicked the letter T. Maybe if that person handwrote it, they just got mixed up. It is meant to be rainbows because thers no such thing as Tain bows.

Though I'm not an atheist, I think you're stereotyping atheists. Not all of them are cruel - actually, there are quite a few rational, intelligent atheists. And atheism is related to religion (it is the rejection of all religious doctrines). Not all theists on R&S will be loving and forgiving, just as many atheists won't be bitter and harassing.

Yes as others have said, I think they meant to write rainbows.

What they are trying to say to you is that they don't want you to be sad, as they are sure you will have a lot of happiness in your life after they have passed on. They are trying to make it easy for you to accept the fact that they are dying.

I hope this helps.
