To Keystoneryder-yes they do :-) My daughters are 10 and 11 and they have two gamecube consoles -we bought one when it just came out and I had to get another one a year ago because they fought over it when they were playing one player games. They have four controllers so their friends can play the four player games with them and they're better at playing than our teenage neighbours who are guys. They play on the neighbours xbox 360 and like it but I was thinking of getting them a wii as it makes them more active and I think they'll enjoy the boxing and shooting games as they play computer games that are similar. -Thanks to you and everyone who answered. :-)

I would definitely have to say a Nintendo product. Most likely the Wii. It's very fun, and you spend a lot of time with motions. They seem young, so I really think they'll like it. Plus the Wii is basically for everyone, even you.

The one concern i would be worried about is that they might accidentally throw the controllers if they don't put the wrist strap on. Other than that, it's an excellent choice.

Get a Wii.

The Wii games will keep them busy, and more active than the other systems, and the games are very fun. Try Rayman Raving Rabbids and the Wii Sports game, which comes with it. Both are a blast for a group of people, and you do kind of get a workout!

Also, the Wii plays all GameCube games, so if there are gams for that platform your daughters like, the Wii has you covered.

I own a Wii and an XBox360 and, aside from Viva Pinata, there isn't too much that's kid-friendly on the XBox 360.

If you want to stay more modern get the Wii, not a Gamecube. The games are geared towards younger people, and there are a wide variety of games to choose from. The Xbox and PS3 are awesome, but the games may be too difficult for a pre-teen, plus all of the good games are for adults anyways. Do pre-teen girls even like playing video games? That is my next Yahoo Question.

Honestly, you should get the system that most of your friends have so you can play online with them. I wanted to get a PS3, but most of my friends have Xbox 360 systems, so I bought that just so I could play online games with them. With Xbox, you have to pay for Xbox Live Gold, which is the membership you need to play games online; with PS3, the PSN membership is free, so you don't have to pay to play games online. The PS3 has a BluRay player, which doesn't mean much unless you have an HDTV; the Xbox 360 does HD, but it doesn't have BluRay capabilities. Both systems have YouTube, Netflix, Hulu and the ability to play DVDs and music discs. I honestly don't know if the PS3 has Last.FM or Pandora or what its music playback options are (I'm sure there is something, I just don't what it is), but Xbox has Last.FM and Zune Music (and I use Zune so it works out great for me). For me, the Xbox 360 was the best choice, but for others the PS3 might be the better choice; it's really just about your personal preference. I have nothing against the PS3 and am still looking to get one unless Sony makes an announcement for the PS4 sometime in the next year, but my recommendation is to get the console that more of your friends have so you can play online with them. Don't even look at the Wii as a proper gaming console...it can only really do Netflix and does not even allow you to play back music or DVDs.

The GameCube is almost obsolete, so I'd say a Wii. The Wii has the best variety of games, from shooters to RPGs to sports. Also, your girls would probably enjoy the classic games that are offered on the Wii channel (Super Mario Bros. 3, etc.). You're really getting the most bang for your buck with the Wii.

....and there's nothing unusual about preteen girls playing video games. Hrmph.

Easily one of the nintendo consoles.
PS3 is limited for that audience except for singstar and DDR.
XBOX360 is currently the king of First Person Shooters but doesn't offer anywhere near the same simple appeal that Nintendo do.

In my opinion, I would suggest the Wii is the best way to go. You will even find that you will pick up and enjoy the same games as your daughter.

DDR is coming out on the Wii with Wiimote control also.
Wii Sports and WiiPlay are excellent for girls in that age group with Tennis, Find Mii, etc.
Then there's Elebits/Eledees, Ravin Rabbids, Super Monkey Ball, Warioware ...and thats just the launch titles. You now have excellent Sonic, SSX Blur, Kororinpa, etc. etc.

The other consoles have some of these games too, but these that I have listed are just so much fun instantly with the Wii controller.

if youre not a serious about games get the wii. If you like lots of multimedia get the ps3. But if you like online gaming then get the xbox 360.
But i think the wii is for you (personally i think it is rubbish!!)

As much as we'd like to generalize we shouldn't because everyone has their own style. But the Wii is the choice to make it doesn't even matter if you're into motion sensing or not it has the most customization features of all the systems
