We have great health care in Canada, and I hear it's quite expensive in the States. Are there any other costs that I should consider. Like the price of car insurance, etc.

you will likely have to pay income taxes to both countries. That is something no one tells you. I saw a news report ont hat once. If you plan on working int he US and no longer wish to pay income taxes to canada, you may have to sell all properties in canada and in some cases, voluntarily give up your canadian citizenship. Each state has different rights for different ppl. Research the state u are considering. Some states hv the death penalty & only 20 states protect gays in the workplace.
The health care system is different and private healthcare differs in each state. shop around. Do not let the current gov't fool u. I have relatives and friends in the US and most ppl are really decsent caring ppl.

The other one cost you should consider is the price you'll have to pay when you say you're Canadian. Just keep it to yourself and don't give yourself away by uttering the word 'out". lol Just kidding Canuck, welcome to your homeland!
