Because it requires people to be fair and lovely not only externally and deep within. Which are rare qualities in members of the so called hotheaded strong Sex :-)

Like in all fields, beauty is a temporary attraction. It is goodness of a person's nature that makes up for a long term comforting relationship!

for the employer. Like someone pointed out. People talking to them dont know if they are fair and lovely.
Good people always get the job. And apart from that most of the fair and lovely have grown up with britney spears as their role model. So they only believe in flaunting their sexuality.
With that belief i dont think they are capable of any other job.
What greater job satisfaction where they have get paid for their fake american accent.
This is a genralization thought. If you look at companies that are big and have good employers who look for performance you will find that there are less of fair and lovelies in such call centre.
And please you dont need to be fair and lovely to have "deep rooted" confidence.
If you are talented you will have the confidence.

In India, a fair and lovely complexion promises a deep-rooted CONFIDENCE. Thats what is required to work in the call centers!

Dark and uglies / short and fatties..are also welcome - who cares as long one does the job well and brings in monies...
I do not belong to the fair and lovelies type at all, and did a great job
