By reading your question I thought you were ADHD and on a high, but after reading the rest I think you are having a manic episode. It is "normal" for a bi-polar person to obsess on issues. You seem to be stuck in that cycle right now.

And it is "normal" for you to have a lack of impulse control. There is not much you can do to "think" your way out of this. You need to focus on balancing out your body's chemistry.

Granted you have not had a good example to pattern yourself after, but you are an adult and need to take control of yourself now.

I am bi-polar and it is under control now without medication. I have a routine I stick to and I don't get into trouble. You can e-mail me if you would like a few more suggestions on the things I found that work. I really don't want to fill you answers page in with 8 pages of information answering your question. lol

You need to learn the value of patience and faith. There are many books written on the subject from people with all kinds of backgrounds and experiences. One thing to notice, if you can let go more and more, just let life unfold before you, one day only, you will see how things happen and fall into place. You really don't have much say in all the things that happen to you each day. Mostly, we just respond and react to events of the day.

Let go, let things unfold for you and be patient. Looking back on my life, there were so many things I should have just let go of. You are young. Life is a process of becoming. Let it happen. You will see and know things in their proper time. That's the start of faith.

Here are some links to sites that provide info on how to exercise self discipline. It gives you at least some answers and helps you to work on your self. But I also would suggest to talk to a professional about your bi-polar symptoms.

It sounds like you may need to speak to your psychiatrist about what's going on. You could be suffering from anxiety or obsessive compulsive disorder. Your doctor will know best. But keep talking to people.

we bi polar folks are just effed for life!!!

we tend to live in the moment and always search for instant gratification.. often hurting those around us... then we never want to face consequences.. and have a hard time living in reality... welcome to my reality...
