I give people who stutter the same respect I do anyone else. It is polite to wait until the other person is finished with what they are saying before speaking. I come from a family of stutterers and none of them liked people who interrupted and "finished a sentence or word" with what they thought was going to be said. Check out The Stuttering Foundation's "How to React to Someone Who Stutters" in the brochure section of their web site.
