I am in search of a fun event for the teachers/staff/faculty at my school where I can keep ticket prices at a minimum.

I want to plan a night just for them, something fun...HELP!

One of my favourite staff events was an auction.
We've done this in conjunction with a pot luck dinner or lunch.
All staff members are invited to bring in some of their unwanted treasures from home and these are put on display (in the staff room) starting a week to ten days before the auction.
You choose 2 or more of your more dynamic, "hammy" staff members and ask them to be the auctioneers. I loved the year when we had the shortest staff member teamed up with our tallest staff member and provided a ladder for the short person!
Proceeds from the auction can go to charity or be split between the staff social fund and a charity.

If you do this as a pot luck dinner at someone's home you'll need to load up all the display items and take them to the house.

Depending on how big your staff is, and how supportive your PTA is, how about a game night with card or casino type games? You could probably get prizes donated by local merchants and businesses.

Another great idea is a Luau. You can get some great cheap decoration ideas from places like The Oriental Trading Company.

Our faculty is over 200, and whenever we have a party, the PTA is great at providing some of the catering and the staffing to show how much they appreciate the hard working teachers. ;)
