I have a friend with benefits but he is really respectful of me. I don't want him to treat me bad nor would I let him but based on a lot of my friends who have fwb's they are treated like crap. So it's kinda like I would never let it happen but I have reason to expect it. So I just wanted to know is he respectful because of me or is it because of him even though we are only fwb. I think a guy once said not all men are animals or testosterone driven, but I do tend to think that, and try to figure out what makes me not have the experiences my friends have even though I am not complaining.

I just wanted to add the becoming fwb was a mutual decision. So I don’t feel he can disrespect me by having sex with me if it’s something that I want to, and yes I do have a whole lot of respect for myself I am just not sure if I want to do the relationship thing right now but for the time being we all have needs.

its probably both. maybe he really likes you but usually if we treat ourselves with respect others will respect us. If your friends are acting likes hoes (im not saying they are, im saying IF) then thats how they will get treated. If you demand respect you will get it

The fact that he is having sex with you without any "ties" to you at all is NOT respect. The fact that he is being nicer to you than the other guys are to your friends simply means your "fwb" is not as big of a jerk. But he is NOT being respectful of you. Being "truly respectful" of you would mean NOT expecting you to be a "fwb". You'll understand this better when you get older and you'll really regret your "fwb" days. You might want to stop them NOW.

FWB- whats that, is there really any fwb, I don't think so but, your Friend likes you not the fwb, that is why you and he are respectful of each other, fwb is just another way of saying a one night stand (over & over)..
