Many people are just plain mean. If they see that you're vulnerable, they put you down in an instant. I suggest you see a counselor for a while to build up your self-esteem. When you can reply back confidently to these people, then they'll move on to somebody else.

well I mess with people for the fun of it but I never take it to a painful level...my guess is because the feel Superior if the put someone else down...

Because they can. Don't let them get away with it. Surround yourself with people who treat you with respect. In turn, treat people the same way.

Because they see that it bothers you. Don't let it, you are amazing and they are worthless.
People did it to me also, I adopted a additude.
