Too many professionals these days have so much pressure to perform almost the impossible. In order to keep yourself in check, emotional competency would allow you to detach yourself from being out of control or losing your cool when it comes to a high pressure situation. To lose your cool means that your mind can't work towards your goal with clear results. They want you to be able to think with a clear head without any outside influences of hating your boss or troubles at home. Spiritual intelligence is more inspirational. To inspire you to come up with original ideas. To believe in yourself and your abilities can be inspiring. This is to keep professionals, just that, professional.

I would think that as a professional anything control over ones emtional state would only improve the decision making process and spiritual intelligence would only serve to guide a person in their decision making process if only to serve as a moral compass and to provide direction when there are no other sources of reasonable input.
