Because there's more at stake (NBA contracts, last game in Allen Fieldhouse, etc.), and the players give every game 110%. And it's probably also that at the college level, players don't believe their own hype yet. Of course, you know that, my fellow KU alum! (Class of '99)

Rock Chalk. . . .

Actually NCAA is more exciting because it's sorta like adolescents who haven't taken it to the next level of adult hood yet. You get the atmosphere of the schools & mascots along with all the colors, music, fight songs, and etc, which all make it more interesting. Also you can get regular blue collar players that are put together that can win a championship who will definitely never make it to the NBA. Also you got a lot more of different strategies and rules in college than the NBA. Coaches like Villanova last year can put in a 4 guard line up and 1 center, but if you do that in NBA, that won't work. Or you can put in 5 players that shoot 3's all the time with consistency, like West Virgina last year. Regular players can dominate in NCAA, but once they make it to NBA, they turn out to be garbage. That's why Duke always seems to always be in the tournament and have a winning tradition. It's the system that's in place there. I think NCAA has it's advantages, but NBA has all the superstars you'll never see in college. Like Kobe Bryant or Dirk Nowitzki.

Most ncaa basketball teams have student sections and its exciting to see. The Cameron Crazy's for duke it gives the game a more interesting aspect to the game. In the NBA there's a lot of front runners doing most of the winning and not even close to as many upsets in college basketball. I'm not saying that nba players don't play with any passion for the game, but its obvious that college players have more. They aren't getting money for playing. College basketball has seniors who could experience the last time wearing their college team's jersey or even the last college basketball game. Last year adam morrison cried while on tv after losing in the ncaa tourny this shows theres more passion and emotion. Don't forget rivals! Every team wants to beat their rival for bragging rights. There are many great and historic rivarlies out there. Duke vs UNC is the roughest that I know of. There's not much different about these schools except for like 9 miles and shades of blue. Here are some of my opinions on why college basketball is more exciting than the nba.

Becuase it's more competetive. There are so many rivalries and in the NBA ther's only one major one. Also, the fans in NCAA basketball are alot more hyped up and into the game more.

In person the college crowd has great energy. The NBA arena's have gone too far with all of the gimmicks of mascots, dance teams, fancy introductions...

Basketball is really a young person's game and the quickness and intensity of younger players makes it great. Check out your local high school playoff games and that is also good entertainment.

College players play for honor and from their heart. You don't see NBA players crying when they've lost the championship. They look sad for a while and pick up their checks on Monday.

I felt sorry for Brooke Smith [senior forward/center for Stanford-number 2 seed], she was in tears when they lost last night to FSU who's the number 10 seed. I doubt Allen Iverson or Shaq would do the same.

*Also, college championship games are decided by ONE game which means they don't get to go home, and think about how they have three or four more opportunities to fix their mistakes and win.

I believe that it is more exciting because there are many games which go down to the wire and love the fact that there are major upsets in college. Also, there is a college type feel to every game. The rivalries are more know in NCAA. UNC/Duke, Duke/Maryland, Kentucky/Louisville.

NCAA by using some distance. it is truthfully genuine, aggressive basketball. in the NBA, the experts look as though they are all on drugs and depressing to be taking part in. purely looking in the eyes of the college gamers, you will discover they are extra severe by way of fact they like a shot at getting drafted. on the different hand, NBA gamers stop taking part in complicated as quickly as they get the super settlement. they start gaining extra weight, including tatoos, taking part in sluggishly and shuffling their ft. The NBA is in a nasty state, and all they are in a position to do now's stop ensuring contracts to verify gamers supply their all.

To sum it all up, cos these are good answers so far...NCAA kids are, for the most part, unspoiled and true basketball players who WANT TO WIN.

The NBA, and pro sports in general for that matter, are spoiled, overpaid brats who make far too much money to care whether they win or not.

Something about the NBA ever since the lockout...I dunno what it is. I used to love the NBA pre-lockout season. Not anymore.

Because college players play with their hearts for honor for their schools. The money that the pro players make takes away that aspect of the game which is where most of the excitement is generated from.
