Hire a neighborhood kid with access to a pick up truck.Tell him/her to bring a friend or 2. Haggle over what you will pay them, here is a hint, don't be the first to mention a number and you will get the better deal. But make it worth their time. You could even tell them you will throw in some Micky D's or Taco Bell or something. Then , buy a case of Mountain Dew , its like rocket fuel for kids, and supervise, just to make sure nothing get tossed that you want to keep. A couple of trips to the land fill and you 're good to go. That way the kids are being taught some work ethic, something sorely needed these days , and it will probably cost you less than renting a dumpster.

Yeah, rent a dumpster... The problem will be not in the physical work but the mental anguish of what you should get rid of!!
Very sentimental stuff aside.....
If you haven't looked at it, wanted it, used it in a year, throw it out!!

Rent a dumpster and call in friends and family to help carry stuff out.

Rent a dumpster and just start pitching stuff. Unless it looks valuable, then sell it on Ebay!

Rent a roll-off. They'll deliver it to your house. All you have to do is fill it up with your junk and call them back up to haul it away.

Lots of garbage bags and no sympathy for what's being tossed.
