It sounds as if you were in Las Vegas. Maybe you should have ventured out of the strip club and had a look at the real America.

What part of the country were you seeing? I have yet to see it. By chance did you stop in at MOMA? Visit NASA? The UN? The Hoover Damn? The Holocaust Museum? The Washington Monument? The Underground Railroad? How very sad that you look a few superficial elements and make a judgment on an entire country. I think that speaks more of you as a person than a reflection on our country. You saw what you wanted to see. P.S. I see a lot of our hairy chested, pasty faced, beer bellied English friends in speedos on our beaches and yet I am not stupid enough to think that a lapse in fashion is a reflection on a nation.

at first, in accordance to the international Olympics Committee, medal count quantity consistently starts with gold medals first, then silver and bronze. there is surely an honest opposition right here between u . s . and China. even although China is premier 20 - 10 now, u . s . is a lot greater effective than China in song and field. additionally there are a number of greater medals up for grab in swimming, the place u . s . dominates. this is puzzling to wager till the final day of the interest.

First of all, this guy has never been to America. Second, everything he said is BS - in one way or another.
America is BY FAR the most developed and technologically advanced country in the world. Name one city in England that you could compare to NYC, LA, Chicago, Boston, Seattle, Dallas, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, etc etc etc.
How about this, the day you put a man on the moon, you can talk to me but until then just crawl back under your rock.

As an Englishman you should go back to England, or at least visit a variety of places in the US. Chances are, you are one of those narrow minded people, who can go to one town, and make an assumption of the entire country based on that one site. Granted, England is a small country, about the size of Rhode Island, and although I've been to Heathrowe Airport, I wouldn't automatically assume that all English people run around with luggage or wings on their chests.

Three possibilites for your misguided characterization of America.Your plane landed in Middle-of-Nowhere, Texas, the onset of a dream after watching a drab 60's hollywood production, you invented the first time machine. Although I will say that American infrastructure is poor and neglected but that involves another story that begins and ends with the word Bush.

Were you on a time machine when you came here, or was it a magic carpet with Alladdin and the Genie? Where the hell did you go when you came here. It sure wasn't where I live in California. You know, if California was it's own country, it would be ranked number 7 in the world. I don't know what you are trying to do, but you're kicking a dead horse with this lame statement.

Yikes, where did you go? And chips are 80's? I had no idea how "retro" I was, nice.
In answer to your question, perhaps you're just looking for reasons to knock the place, and have decided on the fact you can get pizza and people wear cowboy hats. Sounds like a hen night in Luton to me.

As another Englishman i'd like to apologise to our American friends on behalf of this misguided fool. Our country is in such a poor and dilapidated state that many of us would gladly get the hell out of it,given the chance and swap our life for a better one in the U.S.A. or anywhere else for that matter!!

Like England is anymore advanced. I don't know what part of the U.S. you went to but, I garantee you it wasn't New York City, or another major metropolis. The things you observed are part of our diversity.
If we're so behind the times why do you guys still have a queen. Talk about behind the times. A queen and a royal family how middle ages.

It depends on where you are. If you were in NYC you would not see the same thing. Most of the big technology companies are in the US. Microsoft ring a bell? The entire computing world uses MS software. The center of the financial world is also in NYC. We have one of the only really functional space programs in the world and our military technology is without equal. Some of the most powerful supercomputers are in the US and the best medical care in the world is also in the US.
With that being said the US is a land of contrasts. We also have our fair share of poverty and people living without healthcare and without education.
