(or shall I say only admits to sleeping with) about 20 women. Is that a really high number for a guy thats 38, never married, but did have a few long term relationships?

If he seriously dates one woman at a time that's about one woman a year for his 20 adult years.
You know him better than we do, so you should be able to tell us if he is believable, or just telling you what he thinks you want to hear.

Well hard to judge what is the normal numbers but if he is 38 and he had a woman a year that would me he started at 18. Now if he tells you he didn't start until he was 35 then you have 20 women in 3 years...
Either way if he said he had 20 women maybe he did, maybe he didn't

As a lot of single guys go through more than 10 between 18 and 24, I would think that a low number for a 38 year old.

Who is to say how many is too many? I think your first mistake was starting a conversation about how many people you've slept with in the first place. I would be more concerned with whether he has been faithful to the people he dated and how he treats you personally. Just because he slept with 20 women doesn't mean he is a bad guy...perhaps he was just having some fun while searching for you.

i don't think i would wondering if that is a high number i would asking myself why has not been married and how long was the long term relationships.
and to answer your question 20 in about 22 year (average) not bad but again how long was his longest relationship ??

No 20 doesnt dseem like an extremely high number...do the math...if he lost his virginity when he was say..16, that would mean he had 19 sex partners in the next 22 yrs.

That only averages out to be 1 a year since he was 18. I don't think that is excessive by any means. If he was a member of the armed forces then he is almost a monk.

Depends...were they one night stands? All in a committed relationship? How far apart were the sexual encounters? There are a number of factors that could all generate different answers...the bottom line is...is he clean? Is he committed? and Are you comfortable enough with him and his past?
Once you answer these, you'll know.

It could be lower. Most men tend to up the number to make them look more like a stud than a dud
