Welcome to the club, my friend. I have three degrees and no job after losing my last one five months ago. You are not alone in this. The only thing i got so far this year is a rejection letter saying, "Thank you for your interest, unfortunately we are not able to extend you an offer at this time." I've been to about three job fairs, six temp agencies (in person and online), and nothing really happened for me until i was told by someone who lives in Washington that there was a site to go to because this company was hiring. I took up that challenge and now thanks to it, a better opportunity awaits for me. Sometimes relocating is best. It all depends on where you live that may drive you to do that. I'm living in Michigan, soon it'll be Washington. Take my advice: If an opportunity presents itself elsewhere and you're not getting what you deserve where you're at, then prepare yourself to move!

I was out of work for four years and finally got a job that I love. What is your education? The best way to find something is go through a staffing services firm. This way you work for them and you are able to work at whatever company and if it is not a match you move on and if it is, you can stay. When you meet with the staffing service person, you can tell them if you temp to hire or just temp. Make this person you're pal and they will go the distance for you, or they should and if they don't move to another firm. I know that there are many different staffing firms to reflect anyones job skills and experience. I know it's depressing, but you have to keep going and although its tough to put your best foot forward, you have to make an effort to do it. If you need a job to tie you over, I suggest house sitting. If you are near a major population center, go on craigslist and put up an ad for housesitting. Don't charge high amounts at first and one u get a client base, charge more. If they ask you if you are insured and bonded, tell them no, that is why you charge less and or that you are working towards certification. Good luck!

No i have had chronic unemployment over half of the past 10 years no other source of income or public benefits denied when applied! My modest life saving that took years to save GONE paying my mortgage & bills plus doing without and eating a cheap bad diet! I live in Central Florida the wrong place for a white man with no connections! Cheap labor & employers rule its just been one night-mare after another being in Florida the past ten years! I also have certification years of working/business experience etc. I find the facts about the economy are superfiscial along with reported unemployment statistics! Out of the 300 million plus living in USA slightly over one/third have any type of reported incomes W-2,1099 retirement, business pension etc anytype of income. With straight math which household incomes are not, one income must support about 2.5 persons! It is safe to say millions of Americans live in poverty out of the over 100 million households! Homes for sale nationwide have skyrocketed the market is in a slump.

Not at all. I have over 10 years experience and an MBA and am having trouble even getting an interview. If there are people out there that are getting better jobs, then good for them. I'm not one of them.
