i am going to nus to study next year (as i said in my previous Q)
i will study there for 4 years..after which they require u to stay there for 3 years minimum...
after that..my q's are
1)do i get nationality (easily?) if not whats the procedure?
2)if i do get what disadvantage will i have..taxes etc?
3) if i get what advantages..like insurance etc?
pls help!

1- I don't think it's very easy. They don't even give it to some people born here as is the rule in many countries. Usually only people born to Singaporean parents or sometimes married to a citizen.
2- Umm.. MAJOR one... Mandatory NS (national service, or basically military) for all males over 18. Also, after 21 you can't be recognized as a dual citizen and must give up your other country's nationality.
3- There are some minor tax advantages I believe. But I must say, as much as cool as Singapore is there's not much reason to be a citizen. Just get a visa and alien registration and live there without citizenship!

1) yes. make sure to get employed after you graduate. stay in the job for 3 months and you should get your PR.
2) not that i can think of. everybody has to pay taxes and Singapore's taxes is the cheapest
3) being a student you will have some basic form of insurance. after graduation you have to buy insurance yourself.

You are not even start your stay in Singapore. Be patient, you have 4 years to find out the facts before you make your own decision. Ultimately, the final decision is not you it is the Singapore Government!
