I own a Lexmark Z65 home printer that keeps giving me the message that printer is not communicating with computer. Also there is a light that continues to flash on the printer. It is one of the paper tray lights. What could possibly be the problem or do I need a new printer?

I did all that. I turned it off, restarted, etc. still flashing light and error message.

Unhook the printer, uninstall the driver. Restart. Install the driver. Hook the printer back up.
Hopefully that will resolve the issue.

did you try turning everything off, wait a minute or two, then back on? did you install the printer?
