I installed limewire basic and when i searched for a song (Dierks Bentley's Long Trip Alone) and it brought up a huge list of files some labeled long Trip alone, some not. Is one of these safe to download? some are mp3 while others are wma. And is it absolutely FREE?

All of the songs you download are free. But i will suggest you not to download the ones on format .wma. These usually are not the song you're looking for, they're trash! If you wanna get better results do this. Open limewire. Then on the search part click where it says "programs" and then look for limewire pro. Just download the program and there you go! You get the fastest and safest version of limewire at no charge!

When I use limewire, I always go with the one with the most sources. I would definitely only download MP3's. Yes everything is free. Make sure the size of the song is between 128 and 192b/w and I always check the size and length of song. Size should be 3mb-7-mb and songs length are usually 3-4 minutes.

Don't use limewire. Yes, it's completely free. But it's full of viruses. I used it for a couple of months thinking everything was okay- but just last month my computer crashed due to thousands of limewire generated viruses. Instead, try signing up for http://multiply.com - it's free and you know what you're getting is less likely to contain viruses because you can see what's in people's playlists. However, it's true nothing is guarantee totally safe on the internet unless you pay...yadda yadda. Just be careful and make sure you have an antivirus program installed and you should be good to go.

Yes basic is free. I have found lately that there are allot of files that do not pertain to the artist that you want to download. Most seem to be the wma files. Unless you are looking for movie clips ,vid,or anything but music. All so the more obscure the artist the least likely the music will be there.

i have had limewire for well over a year now. not been charged once. if you get the upgrade, or the pay version, your hits will be a lot better. you can type in anything like 'i can't get no (satisfaction)' obviously the stones, and you will get scores of results (most correct, most obviously wrong, plus ringtones and all sorts of other crap), but with limewire pro, the searches should be remarkably better. if you don't mind the poor connections and the mismatched songs, stick with the freebie

stick with the mp3s and watch how many people are shareing the title. If the end of the description is blank and has no source avoid it..Punch in the artists name in small print then try large, then try searching for the song title the same way.you can change your settings to block out wmas also.

Choose the ones that have the name of the song you want.

Mp3 is the best choice.

Yes, it is absolutely free.

Hope that helps ^_^

First off, it is 100% free...as for the song, it should be safe for dl'ing. While it is dl'ing, I would suggest hitting the "preview" button on the bottom of the screen to make sure that it is a copy of the song.
