Just tell her to take her time. There's no rush. She has plenty of time to scope out the guys she thinks are hot.
Personally, it's a little young.
From a dating standpoint though, until you're out of middle school, "dating" means just sitting next to each other at lunch and holding hands on the playground.

My little sister did the same thing and by the way she just turned 7 so maybe we're on the same page.
you should let her know there is a time and place for everything and a boyfriend just does not fit into her life right now..You don't have to sugar coat it but come from a sisterly point of view and please let her know that you have her best interest at heart. I had to do the same with Tay, but it eventually worked!

Around 11th or 12 grade. Why rush it? You have the rest of your life to enjoy and grow and learn. One thing leads to another. And, I am sure you don't want to deal with the other,(babies, that is) until later in life. Focus on a career for now! Boyfriends and love come later. Be smart!!!!

Whoaaaa. 5th grade is way to young to have a boyfriend. Relax, you have the rest of your life to date. You don't ever NEED to have a boyfriend. The sooner you can be happy with yourself the better off you'll be.

She should wait till she's about 30.
11-12 year old boys only want to know, "What color underwear she is wearing."
I think most little girls are thinking a little more romantically than that. I know most 30 year old women are still thinking romantically, But of course the 11-12 year old boy is now 30 or 31 and is still wondering what color underwear she's wearing.

You talk about picking out a boyfriend like you would a pet dog. In my book 11 years old is a bit young to be worring about such things. She can wait.

Who cares? 5th grade boyfriend/girlfriends don't matter. They don't even do anything, just walk around, MAYBE holding hands. It doesn't hurt anything or anyone.

tell her no wait until jr high shes way way too young you dont want someone to take advantage of her my daughter does to i said no in 8th grade you can you will be ready then not until then cause iwas pregneant at 16
