I bought a new PC.System properties says I am running media.Advanced system information says I am running pro.Can anyone tell which I have please?It should be media ,that's what I bought it as.

Your running both. Media is a subset of pro.

Windows media centre is an extension of microsoft windows pro. So basically you have windows XP Pro, but then have the media extension that lets you do all the wireless control features etc.

It sounds to me like you are running XP media

Windows MCE is pretty much Pro with a few extra things. If you have Windows Media Center than you are running MCE.

Right click My Computer icon on your desktop, clcik Properties. The box that opens up will tell you what OS version you are running.

you can determin it by the color that runs on the progress bar when the Windows Logo loads on your screen if its blue it means its pro, if green its home, i dont know about the media but surely that would be any other color but green or blue
