I've heard that the previous slider models of cell phones had some issues. If so, what were they, and are they fixed in the newer models, such as the LG VX8500?

The old slider phones, were usually Kyocera's that had the main problem that I know of. But their screen would disconnect from the main phone, and it would happen very often. You would have to turn the phone on and off to fix it.

That was about three or four years ago, and they've fixed it, and made it a lot better.

I have the LGVX8500, and I'm very happy with it. No problems so far, except for the fact that the front screen isn't protected, and it scratches very easily.
