They probably won't fire him. They'll be a meeting in which he is told he needs to resign for the good of the Administration and then after he resigns Bush will make a statement about how sad it is that a Democratic witch hunt made poor Gonzales feel he had to resign. He'll just be another sacrificial lamb, like Libby. But this time around, it isn't going to work. Congress is going to pursue this action like a dog with a bone and issue subpoenas like there is no tomorrow to high officials in the Administration. And I suspect, like Nixon, Bush will try to use Executive Privilege. I doubt if he'll have any more luck at this than Nixon did. The Democrats are tired of getting spin, they are after the truth and they're going to get it, one way or another. It's going to be the final death knell for the Republicans bid for office in '08.

Lets see what day is this? Remember when it was all Harriet Miers fault? Remember when Bushes loyalty was so profound? My guess it that with 3000 more emails being released that show Gonzales was lying about interfering in ongoing investigations, hes out the door for the good of the administration, unless they can blame it on Clinton.
He won't be filling out unemployment papers, the second biggest purpose of this administration is to put its people into Halliburton and related companies. They are dusting off a desk for him somewhere right now.

This is another B.S. Democrat issue. where were the Democrats in 1993 when Bill Slick Willey Clinton Fired every federal prosecutor in the United States? The total I believe was 93 Prosecutors lost their jobs back then. Gonzales has fired 8.
I see no one will address that issue of Clinton and the 93 he fired just ramble on about the BIG total of 8

Look at the last two guys Bush backed 100%:
"Heckuva job, Brownie!"
"Donald Rumsfeld will be the Secretary of Defense as long as I am president!"
If I were Gonzales, I'd look at the want ads.

He is hit, and he better do the right thing and resign. When he goes before Congress they aren't going to be nice after the follow up of Scooter Libby's trial and conviction.

It's not enough to fire Gonzalez. He needs to go to jail. He is on record as lying to Congress. He offered immunity to a Mexican drug smuggler to testify against two Border Patrol Agents.
Until we start putting these criminals in jail, they will never stop violating the rights of the American people.

He would never be fired.
At worst, he would be strongly encouraged to resign.
Or he might choose to resign, to avoid further embarrassment.
