I would start by doing a search for "javascript tutorials". Javascript is a little like most programming languages and can easily be used in HTML documents without any special compilers. This will teach you how to think logically which is the most important part of programming. The language is secondary.

Having worked in FORTRAN and BASIC for decades, I am not sure I would force Visual Basic on anyone - just finding an ordinary windows feature in the endless list of variations and choices is rediculous.
There are a number of free programming environments (Netbeans) and tutorials online that will take you step by step through the basics. The advantage of an environment is that it knows how the language is supposed to look and will signal that you have something wrong, either in the text or another window (VB does this) You do not spend your time looking for a small typo you made a week ago.
C and C++ are serious languages but C in particular has some serious readability problems that can make it hard to find what is going on. C is available for most machines because it was used to build the operating system, which needs to get very close to the machine, but doesn't make C a FUN language.

Listen,I am linked with programming for a long time.Programming is not a matter of joke and if you seriously want to learn high level programming like Java and C++ then you need to donate 2 years at least for learning it.
Secondly, you cannot learn programming on line. Many people may say you can learn programming on line, but try it out yourself.I am sure you know how to google for "Learn Java"/"Learn C++"
Thirdly, you are fourteen.I know a boy who is 7 and knows the basics of C++.So at this age you should be able to learn Java/C++.I myself was a database engine programmer(used to program productivity softwares)at the age of 11.Really,believe be.
Fourthly do you want to learn ancient languages? But whats the use in learning pearl and PASCAL types of languages?Don't learn them.Try to learn Java / C++ as they are used heavily in the software programming market. There is no point learning C as it is a subset of C++.
Lastly, go through a good organization's course or buy several good books from the market. One of my fave Java book is "Learn Java in 21 days".Though it will take at least six months.

I would suggest you try out "Visual Basic." It's a simple programming language that reads almost like perfect English.
Just search Google for "visual basic" and look at some of the example code. It may or may not interest you.
HTML is a good language too, but it's not *really* a language. It's just a text markup code. But it's good anyway if you want to make some webpages.

As mentioned, Basic is fairly basic to learn. You can search some different languages on the Internet. I give you C, C++ and Perl to read. This just help you start learning. The first thing is to know what is what. Basic was my first language and still play with QBasic in DOS 5.0.

Hell that is when I started. I started with Basic and FORTRAN but I would not send you through that torture. I would start with the Internet. Learn HTML, then the document object model w/ javascript to process forms, and then a server side language like php, java or asp.net to write server side code. You will also need to learn SQL to store and retrieve information from a database.

for html

for everything else.

so goto barnes and noble, and read books on C programming, most computer Operating systems are based upon C, if you want to learn scripting then go read about perl, expect, python or php etc..
the nice thing about barnes and noble, they sell coffee, and dont kick you out, so it's like you get the books for free..
