How can I turn this frown upside down?

I Don't think he is teething because he's only 8 weeks old. He is peaceful when I hold him on my chest. He falls asleep but as soon as I put him down for a nap.... I get this sad little face.

Thanks for some of the suggestions. I think he was just gassy. Now he looks like this......

Rub his tummy from his right to his left to move any gassiness out. Make funny faces. Give him a bottle. Play peek-a-boo (a HUGE fav. of my son at this age). Take off his clothes and let him have some naked time (watch out for the fountain!). See if you can rock him to sleep. Play some music for him, but not too loud. Good luck and hang in there!

as u said he is just 8 weeks so he doesn't know how to laugh and soon he will be bigger and u will be able to play with him and sure he will play with u too...u said he feel peaceful when u hold him ..this is a very common thing happends to all mothers and new born babies .... god put this feeling in thier hearts that they can feel if the 1 who is carrying him is his/her mom or not

My baby loves the combination of me patting his back and shushing in his ear. It calms him right down and has ever since he was born.

aww...how cute. try rubbing your babys belly or maybe pat its back while rocking or walking. if teething is the culprit, try massaging the gums with your finger.
