We put in 800 sf of hardwood flooring in our master suite and I made the mistake of doing it before finishing the plaster work. What we found was really eye opening.
1. Murphy's Oil Soap works well if your floors are really well sealed. But they make a mess and will warp boards that are in tight corners and don't have good air flow. Boards will swell up and "cup"
2. Vinegar destroys the polyurethane finish and causes it to peel up.
3. Orange Glo hardwood floor kits are the best by far, but Bruce hardwood floor cleaner is good, too. The difference is that the Orange Glo leaves the floor with better protection and a light oil finish. It doesn't stain socks or slippers though, but it does a great job of making the floors look better longer.
It's up to you what you use, but if you want to keep it nice longer, I wouldn't go near Murphy's or vinegar again.

I use the Bissell Flip it Mop. It vacuums, mops, and then suctions up the water so it dries really fast. There is a wood floor cleaner for it and a hard floor cleaner too. So I use it on all my floors and it works great.
You know you're not just spreading around the dirt like you would with a sponge mop or a swiffer. Those are in a way like sponges and you're removing dirt from one spot, and wiping it all over another.
Even though it looks cleaner, you're not cleaning it as good as you should.

What ever you use ALWAYS I MEAN ALWAYS make sure to remove as much water as possible before mopping your wood floor!
I would recommend for "real" wood not "laminate" Murphy Oil, mix your oil w/ water and use a cotton mop to clean your floors. If its a laminate I would recommend a product that pledge put out, it comes in a yellow bottle and you use it w/ damp cotton mop.
Anyone of these things will work, please do not be afraid of Murphy Oil I have a domestic cleaning company and I've had a customer for 5 yrs, wood floors, Murphy oil and no problems. But ALWAYS I MEAN ALWAYS GET AS MUCH WATER OUT OF THE MOP AS POSSIBLE!!
Good luck and I hope you enjoy your clean wood floors :)

yes I would use pine sol and afterwards for a shine I would buy some paint to paint the floor with clear coat gloss, then it would shine again.

I use Pledge vinegar floor pads. Also have used the store brand too. But the vinegar ones don't streak the floor and leave it nice and shiney and smelling very good.
