My husband worked in Angola for many years, first on rotation and then on marital status. I was there with him 2002 - 2005 and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is expensive, it is dirty, the majority of the time the service in restaurants is terrible but there is something about the place. The Ilha is a strip of land attached and there are many nice beach bars/restaurants, you can sunbathe, swim, eat and drink. Who will you be working for, most companies provide good homes, drivers etc.

Yeah! Luanda is a good place to be. Hard and fun. Little bit expensive though. But if you are employed by oil company, then you have no cause to complain.

All the best!/
