Have you thought of a good "species" name for either combinations?
I have a good one for the cat/dolphin, if I may make a suggestion... dolpheline. Sound good?

Ummm - A cat dog would sell really well - go for the big bucks! $$$
No one wants a flying unhousebroken dog - gross!
Dolphin cats take up too much time in the bath tub!

The term is Chimera.
The mating wouldn't work but if you build it Frankenstein style it may live long enough to get some keen pictures.
BTW, don't misuse the word "mystical" cause that's not what you're going to get.
