Our building at work has wifi, my boss took the laptop that we normally use here to Germany. When he tried to connect to the internet it said "no networks available". Is there a way to temporarily get service?

Germany uses the same frequencies and protocols like the USA (it's the standardized IEEE 802.11b/g protocol on the 2.4GHz radio frequency).
fyi, you have to be near to a hotspot (airports, hotels, cafes, buildings of companies etc) to get a wireless connection. most of them aren't public/free.

They don't have wireless in Germany.

Kidding.

The wifi is mostly likely setup not to broadcast it's domain. Have him contact the systmes administrator and request the wireless name and passkey.
