Oh, dear--I'm going to disagree! Hey, y'all quit throwing things!
I've seen Phantom on stage twice, and it is also my favorite show. (This is a rather shameful thing for a theatre professional to admit. But it's true.)
I think you need to find out just how far back "in the way back is." The second time I saw it, it was in a huge house. I bought the cheapo seats and was in the second balcony. The rake (angle) of the seats was so steep, I saw almost none of what happened onstage...but I saw a whole LOT of what happened backstage! I was also seated right behind the follow spotlight operator, and had to crane my neck around her the whole time.
Now, it's the theatre's fault for selling me that lousy seat, but I'm telling you this so that you know that Phantom apparently doesn't check this kind of stuff in the theatres they book. YOUR cheap seats might be great--or they might be as horrible as mine.
And because I love Phantom so much, I have to say that every penny spent on a ticket it worth it. If it were me, I'd beg. borrow, or steal enough to get the good seats. You want to be on the main floor and somewhere in the middle--not too close for this one because it's so big and so loud. I don't think you'll regret it.

I think you should. It is a lot better than the movie. the play seems so much better when you are there to see it. If you are not going to get a good seat though, I would bring binoculars. The first time I went to see the play, I ended up getting a really bad seat, and I didn't have binoculars, it sucked. but yes, I would recommend seeing it on stage. The costumes, music, everything is different from the movie. It is quite interesting. Anyways, if you do decide to see it, I hope that you enjoy it!

The first time I saw this we were way up in the second balcony at a theatre in Montreal, and it was still wonderful. Especially if you love the show, go see it. I thought our seats for Music Man on Broadway were very far away (they were the second to the last row) but I was pleasantly surprised that the theatre itself was quite intimate, and we could see wonderfully.
I think you'll be more disappointed if you allow yourself to miss it.

Here's what I think: go see it now, but start saving up your money so that you can see it later in better seats.
I saw it in Atlanta at the Fox Theater and it was AMAZING. I love the movie and everything, but seeing it on stage has no equal. It is so unbelievably worth it, I can't even explain it.
When I saw it, I had front row balcony seats, in about the center of the row. I would recommend being in a seat like that when you see it next.
Go, and have fun! It's worth it.
PS -- Bring the biggest box of tissues you can get your hands on! The end is done so wonderfully...it's so emotional!

Andrew Lloyd Weber's The Phantom of the Opera is one in each and every of the main suitable video clips ever, i will relate lots to it. He probably observed it on the incorrect time and in the incorrect temper(in keeping with risk small show screen and undesirable sound?) and now this is exceedingly puzzling to alter that.

Bring binoculars and go see phantom of the opera! I've seen it once and it is unbelievable! I was sitting in the third to last row, but It was still by far the most brilliant opera I have ever seen. You should definitely go.

You should go, even though your sitting in the back, you will still enjoy it and you will be able to get a better perspective from a distance, but if you have opera glasses or binoculars, take those , but I'm sure you knew that already, have fun.

It's a BIG show....lots of large theatrical elements. It should be fine, even from the back. Plus the music is beautiful. You could almost just close your eyes.
