Good Old J.R. suffered from a stroke that caused him to have a condition called Bell's Palsy which caused his muscles to react they way they do which is why his lips barely move whenever he's talking. Just because it looks like he's barely moving his lips whenever he speaks, whatever comes out of his mouth is words and people need to consider him a wonderful announcer.

JR was forced by wrestlings politics to leave the wrestling business took a pretty long break from the business opened a food store and
he was into cigs and alchol very deeply and suffered from a disease which i think left him with no feeling on the left side of his face

There are two explanations
1. His stroke/bells palsy
2. He's from Oklahoma
He's still one of the better commentators out there though. Small things like physical deformities and throat cancer don't stop you from being a good play-by-play or color commentator...look at Bobby the Brain. Throat cancer or not, if I had a televised promotion, I'd take him over Don West any day.

Because he has Bell's palsy which makes the face paralyzed. He got it about 5 years ago and was off TV for a while. He was never like that before.

He has suffered from bouts of Bell's Palsy in the past. Bell's Palsy causes the facial muscles to weaken or become paralyzed.

Years ago he had a stroke and then he suffered from Bell's Palsy, that went away for years, but then it came back after his stroke. That's why he talks like that

dudes, according to Wikipedia, he never had a stroke. it just said that his bell's palsy got worse after his mom's death

He has bells palsey and one side of his face is completely paralized
