I live in university halls of residence where the fire alarms are really sensitive. Last time it went off was Friday, and it does get annoying. Once it went off when it was really stormy (and I live on the seafront) and the waves were coming right over the road, there was a bottleneck at the front door because no-one wanted to get wet!

It was a lot worse last year, it would go off at least once a week, usually about 2 or 3am and we'd all go out in the rain in our pyjamas and wait for the fire brigade to turn up. I must be mad because I'm going to live in that building again next year! lol

Not sure about where I am now, only been there since Christmas!!!!

The last time the alarm went off where I used to work it was pooring down with rain, at the end of the infants Christmas perfomance and we all thought it was a joke!!!! Boiler was on fire, full school evacuation and a day off the following day as i couldn't be repaired quickly enough.

So not pleasant to be outside in the rain, but it was made up for it with the day off we had!!!!

About a month ago, because some girls "accidentally" set fire to the paper towels in the toilets. Soon enough, the whole room was burnt out.
So technically it wasn't a drill, it was for real.

I actually manage all the safety aspects of my workplace and I conducted a fire drill in January. We do one per quarter as per our insurance policy.
Always fun, except in the bitter cold.

Wow, haven't had one of those in YEARS. I use to like them when I was in school. Never had one at work though. They're definitely a most welcome 30 minute break.
