Well most of the designers now do very little of the actual designing as they have people whose tastes they like do the basics and they lend their approval or the designer will come up with an idea and have others work with it.

There are hundreds of fashion designers most of the names you hear of are actually married or in committed heterosexual relationships.

examples
Donna Karan, Tommy Hilfiger (single but dating has several kids and once picked a fight with Axl Rose),Kenneth Cole, Ralph Lauren, Kate Spade, Oscar De La Renta (married several times over), Liz Clairborne (married twice).

Issac Mizrahi is openly gay as is Michael Kors and as Versace was.

So by doing a bit of research i've found your theory to be tinged with prejudgement.

I don't care what the designers of the clothes i wear do in their bedroom that's their concern i will only be held accountable for my individual actions in the end.

As far as being feminine Giorgio Armani owns a basketball team and actively participates in athletics even at retirement age. Bill Blass was a WW2 veteran who was responsible for creating bogus intel to trick the Nazis by making fake military positions. Hardly girlie men.

Well, I think I have a theory to this. This is gonna sound stupid but just read it anyway, In Legally Blonde, the gay guy knows exactly what kinda shoes she is wearing. So I think they pay more attention to detail and have a better fashion sense than other guys.

He didn't say alll of them, he asked why MOST fashion designers are gay. And truth is, I have asked myself that same question many times.

because it is "socially unnacceptable" for a straight man to have such a feminine occupation. straight men are afraid to express creativity, because others will think they are gay.

And I dont believe as many designers are gay as people think. Its just a pre-assumtion that any man in that line of work almost obviously is gay. FALSE accusations. thats why

It's because gay guys have better attention to detail and most of the time better taste in clothes than straight guys.

They are not all gay!

But just imagine if they all weren't. Do you think straight guys in generaly could concentrate on the task at hand when they are surrounded by supermodels they are trying to dress? And what kind of outfits would they make :-)

Women focus on appearance and making things beautiful..adorning things, embellishing things, making themselves pretty, whereas men are more of a DIY type. For men who design and are gay, they have some elements that women have a knack for beauty!

The persona is "gay". It makes people think that they are better in tune with the clothing seen. It is all hype. Don't judge a book by its cover.
