Cigarettes are a stimulant drug. They increase your metabolic rate and allow you to burn more calories and thus can keep off weight. However, the negatives of cigarettes far outweight the positives. I am a PA an specialize in Pulmonary Medicine. Think about how you would feel if you came into my office at age 40 having lived a wonderful life with a great family and looking foward to the next half of your life with them. And then I tell you thats not going to happen because you have Lung CA that cannot be cured and you will not live very much longer. We have to tell nice people like yourself this on a weekly basis because of their decision to smoke.

It doesn't burn fat but it burns a lot of other stuff. It may cause you to not eat as much, but it is a big unnecessary risk. Would you rather be not so thin in 10 years time or be dead from smoking? I know what I'd rather.

Yes it does but not nearly enough to warrant even thinking about smoking,in fact, thinking about it probably burns more fat than smoking.Your friend is genetically different and tends to be thin anyway. There are far more healthier ways of burning fat and are also fun e.g walking, sport, and yes,sex too, even solo sex.

Not really, but it does increase your pulse rate and effects your thyroid gland both of which increase your metabolism rate and THAT causes the body to metabolize fat for calories if one consumes fewer calories than what they are using. Another thing that effects body weight is death. After a few months time the pounds just melt off.

No, smoking does not burn fat. Your friend has a fast metabolism. It doesn't matter though, he will eventually get lung cancer, or emphysema, and die.

Smoking doesnt burn fat, but we are all different. differences in metabolism, activity, diet content all help decide our rate of metabolism

Too many cigarettes messes up your taste buds, so you eat just enough to stay alive.

Once you quit, food taste a lot better and you have a tendency
to over eat
