Tennessee Law

Consentual Sex with a Minor—statutory rape—consent is not a defense. Sex with a person 13 years of age or over but under the age 18 and the offender is four years or more older than the minor. A first offense provides for a sentence of 1 - 2 years and the possibility of probation.

Although this is the only specific law I can find...I'd STRONGLY suggest you not base your decision on this alone.

Sounds to me like Tennessee needs to revamp their law!

Yes, the age of consent in Tenessee is 18. You can be charged with criminal sexual act.....because you're close in age, it wont make it Statutory Rape, but a lesser sexual offense charge.

I would hope so. If they're in love, they should wait until they are married. If they aren't in love, they shouldn't be having sex. It probably isn't statutory rape, but it will be something illegal, sexual battery on a minor or contributing the the delinquency or something.
