Do u think its wrong for the government to tell us we can't spank our own kids? abuse is wrong! but sometimes we need to spank our kids, so that they wont go in the wrong direction and someday be so outta hand that we the parents cant control them. "Timeouts" dont work for everything. If u saw ur child playin with the stove after 2 warnings, would u not spank them?

I agree with you there.. I have alot of friends that doesn't spank their children and these kids scream at them, hit them, and stomp their feet when they don't get their way. I'm sitting there like yeah boy standimg in the corner and sitting in time out really helps .. I don't think so. I don't believe in child abuse but I do believe in spanking your child when nothing else seems to work.

When the government bares my own children for me, and supports them financially, thats when they can tell me what to do in my own home..

Very good question!

this is really getting out of hand (no pun intended) with what the government says we can and cannot do. It's one thing to abuse a child it is a completely different story when you discipline your child for something he/she has done wrong. There should be no law against an open handed spanking on the behind or hand. besides when you give a spanking the point is not to hurt your child but to show that you mean business.

You aren't going to get locked up or have your kids taken for a spanking. If it turns out that you spank your kid three times a day, then you have no control over them but fear, and in a couple years older smacking their butts won't even give you that--so you need to come up with something better.

If you make a spanking a consequense for something done bad, and you make it like a sentence being carried out (rather than you smacking the kid's butt in anger when he gets on your nerves), you aren't going to have problems with the law unless you are leaving bruises. It's the ones who abuse their kids mentally and then say "I was just spanking them--can't a parent do that?" that get into trouble.

As an 80's baby and recipient of plenty of spankings, I opted not to administer this same form of cruelty and mistreatment to my own children. My husband (who is a spanking advocate) is slowly coming around and I hope to have him fully converted soon. Spanking is unnecessary. Parents should not have to use physical force to correct your child and make them listen to you.

I agree that spanking your baby on the backside or popping their hand is fantastic as lengthy as its no longer in severe tension or on the face while a baby does incorrect. I even have faith the courting at the same time with your little ones ought to have a miles better stability of compliment and love. the government ought to have not got any say on that. If the government desires to label somebody a foul determine for disciplining their young little ones they might desire to look into the becoming crime cost and shortage of duty young little ones take for their strikes on the grounds that "outing" grew to alter into the politically maximum superb form of disciplining young little ones. If the government desires to step in and take the main superb punishing your baby now, then the government ought to arise with a greater clever plan to rehabilitate criminals in our over crowed jails and prisons. I even have faith mom and father ought to supply up making excuses or blaming others for their young little ones strikes in college or besides the fact that.

Yeah, the government has been so successful at everything else, what makes them think they are qualified to tell people how to raise their children?
