If so what happened? I am 35 wks today and found out that my fluid levels are at 7.1 and if they are near 5 next week they are going to deliver the baby. Just needing some reassurance at the moment.. thanks all.

Try drinking tons of water everyday. You should be getting at least .5 oz per lb of body weight! Dehydration can cause low amniotic fluid. 36 weeks is so early to deliver unless there is no other choice. I'd recommend trying the water first. I had low amniotic fluid w/ my son, but brought it up to normal after making sure to drink 12 cups (8oz cups) daily. I didn't enjoy it, but it was better than exposing the baby to the risks of prematurity.

This is not exactly an answer, but I hope that it may be an encouragement to you.

A few hours ago, I got back from a follow-up US to rule out or confirm that I had low fluid levels. Since I am in my 2nd trimester, it was extremely scary as if true, I would in all likelihood lose the baby as the baby could not be born safely.

I am happy to say that my second US showed perfectly normal levels.

One of my best friends also had low fluid levels around 36 weeks. She pounded the water as they told her and rested as much as she could. By super hydrating, her levels returned to normal, and she delivered at 39 weeks when she naturally went into labor.

I know. It's terrifying. My husband and I were scared silly. Fortunately, the tests are not always perfectly accurate and drinking water really does help in many cases.

So, the levels can fluctuate and change.

I certainly have a chum who had to furnish her toddler @ 7 mths bc her amniotic fluid became low. she had a c-area, and the toddler is wonderful. the scientific institution had to maintain her until eventually she have been given 4 pds. and it in basic terms took the toddler 3 weeks to get to 4 pds. i think shw became 2pds while she became born.

I had really low fluid and I just had to go have the stress test done twice a week. where they hook you up to the monitor to make sure the baby is moving. I had my baby a week early then and he was fine.
