if your modem has USB you can connect one cable to say:
Your PC.'s usb port ( firewire to usb connector cable.)
BSNL will supply this modem depending on the scheme you select I think it is Type 2
Another RJ45 cable to say :your laptop.
Otherwise you have to buy a different router.
Connect the RJ45 to the router and connect upto 4 computers. ) ( wireless LAN is another subject )

1] Through internet sharing you can able to access the internet in another computer.
2] You can put Proxy server and you can able to access the internet for another computer

one cable from modem to network hub.
one cable each from every comp. to the network hub.
thats it.
enable net sharing in windows network setup wizard.
