For the boots? Only if he's replacing the entire CV Axle, not just the boots. If it's really that expensive to replace boots on that car, then you may as well drive it until it starts clicking when you turn (which could be years as is the case on my Corolla) and then replace the entire CV Axles.
Preventative maintenance isn't really worth it if you spend more on the prevention then you would if you just let it break.

I was searching on ebay for the axle boots and an estimated price per axle is about 50 dollars. but if he's charge for labor then the price will definitly be higher per axle.
