I think it was a joke (whether tasteful or not is perhaps beyond the purview of the Supreme Court) in which students were making fun of the way so many groups have taken up the "for Jesus" refrain, including:
Jews for Jesus, Teens 4 Jesus, Stuntmen 4 Jesus, Goths 4 Jesus, etc.

Of course it was a joke. But--either way--its now a legal issue. Open and shut as far as I'm concerned--the student wasn't on school propert nor disrupting classes--so the school exceeded its authority in a mannner that violates the student's right of free speech.

He was exercising his right to free speech. I am so mad at the Juneau school board that I am temped to set up a neon sign reading Bong Hits 4 Jesus in my front yard or maybe it should read Bong Hits 4 the school board. I live across the street from the high school in question.

For all we know Jesus may have smoked or consumed pot in food because at the time Cannabis was widely used for medicinal purposes and other uses. Cannabis only became and illegal "drug" in 1915. Since 7000B.C cannabis/hemp has been a widely used plant in oils, food, incense, textiles and such. So it is no far stretch to assume that Jesus did in fact come into contact with cannabis at some point during his life.

I was wondering if there would be such a great out pouring for "Free Speech" if the sign said something like "Jesus consider homosexuality a sin too."
or would that fall under the hate speech column.

or if it said "Muslims enjoy pork too"

or would that not be PC too because it would often Muslims.

Do you notice you can do things against Christianity and it is accepted as "Free Speech" however the same thing is said against certain groups it changes to "hate speech"

Why is that.

I think all this is just crap about a sign with some words on it.
I say, "If they don't like it..don't read it!"

Anything like this in any court is absurd.

If that kid REALLY had a pair, he'd have insulted Mohammed instead of Jesus
