a london based bus company is introducing buses for white people who are frightened to travel with asian and black people. they argue that many are scared after the london bomb attacks and spate of black on black knife attacks. is this justified or just racist scare mongering

Um. yes, it is racist by discriminating against non-whites.

And just like that we've gone to 1950s USA where blacks werent allowed to drink out the same water fountain. Is just thought up by the BNP to put a few more barriers in place!
Like a white person has never blown anywhere up! I didnt get scared sitting on the same bus as an irish man before the IRA had a ceasefire so why should I be scared to sit beside a black/asian person.

people have the right to choose, maynot be right but, the customer is always right. I don't think anyone should give a ****. It'd be a problem if you didn't have the choice. Although, having an all white bus could be a great target for a jihad's rocket-launcher. I doesn't make a differnce really though what bus you take, terrorist kill people, anyone that falls out of the category of the intended target is collateral damage, themselves included. Terrorists are evil, suicide bombers are crazy. It's going to be very hard to stop a suicide bomber running at a bus with a dynamite suit.

I find it hard to believe they would get away with this idea with today's 'pc' society in the UK, but saying that, there are women-only taxis, for ladies who are nervous being ferried about by men. I'm unable to answer this one, as I can fully understand the fears of the general public r.e. the reasons stated above. It's just as valid an argument as to how a New Yorker might feel about entering a taxi or bus driven by a Muslim following 9/11..

It's racist. I feel sorry for anyone who believes that is a viable solution to anything. What would they do about people of African/Caribbean heritage who identify themselves as black but look completely white. What are they going to do then, ask for identity cards like they used to do in South Africa?

and furthermore, why does society tell white people that whites do not commit crimes. Any person of any race can commit a crime, any any person of any race can NOT commit a crime.
I think what they are underlyingly selling is the idea of separation. The under lying is they are dividing the class AND race at the same time. Damn, that's racist.
Take a step back and look at the bigger picture.

Sometimes I despair of this world ... and in any case, what kind of logic is that? If you're white, you make yourself even more of a target as soon as you step on one of those babies.
It seems that human rights are being eroded, all in the name of the so-called terrorist enemy ... shades of Orwell's '1984'. We laugh at the absurdity of this idea today, but gradually it will work its way into our subconscious and we will find it acceptable, like identity cards.

As much as I'm concerned about terrorist attacks etc, I really don't think this is justified.
Besides, it's not like every bombing is carried out by asian or black people is it.

well, most of these people who call it racism would have no problem riding on a nonwhite bus if whites were the ones causing problems.
it's justified.
we are in a world were we have to put a halt on feeling safe so we don't hurt certain feelings. it's called Political Correctness overdone.
