This doesn't really answer your question, but I think TB is wrong to assume that given the option, that women would choose to not wear the hijab. This assumes that women do not have the choice, but for many it is a personal choice and it is not forced.

Overall, women should have power over their own bodies. Forcing women to NOT wear something is just as bad as forcing them TO wear something. It is not up to us to dictate how someone else chooses to follow their religion.

one million. I put on the hijab first and essential due to the fact it's commanded through Allah swt within the Quran. But I love dressed in it, it identifies me as a Muslim, it continues me from being ogled and it jogs my memory of my tasks. two. I do not maintain the braided hijab sort, however that is individual style. As lengthy as a sort covers what it's meant to hide, I might no less than remember it, however my tastes have a tendency to be a bit of tame (I'm 30+) three. Inside the condo wherein nobody can see you however individuals who have a unique household courting, or ladies, or babies, you do not need to put on it, until you are praying. But if you are external wherein you'll be able to be visible (as the girl for your instance used to be) you then do need to put on it. Your questions weren't in the slightest degree impolite and I thanks in your curiosity in Islam. Please suppose loose to jot down me if in case you have any extra questions.

It's not filthy, but it simply is not our culture. I know it is what she believes but we have to look at her and think - do you really want to be covered up? It's a right not too, we have the\at freedom.

She is different and just as if she had one leg or a patch on her eye, people will look.

Thanks to the media that pictured anything that symbolises Islam as terrorism,a lot of innocent people are victims of generalising....
Then again, who controls the international media?
And what is the Islamic media doing about it?the answer is : not enough.

I look at them and wonder what is it about their faith or culture that demands such an extreme measure

I don't look at them as dirty, I look at it as it is sad they have to live like that because something else is making them, you know if they didn't have to per their culture, nobody would dress like that, has to be extremely uncomfortable esp in the heat.

Well if you dress from head to toe and run around in the heat sweating you are going to stink from sweat and the dirt is going to stick to your body causing filth.
