As you speak to a group of people whether young children or teenagers what are some OTHER ways to grab their attention or start speaking to them other than just saying "you guys this or you guys that"? I know it is a wierd question but the English slang of "you guys" is often over-used. From a possible future elementary school teacher I find myself sayin you guys need to do this or you guys are doing great at that during summer camp job....what are other formal ways to address groups of people?

Or maybe I have a bad habit and need to just get rid of it...

girls and boys
u lot
hey man
hey every one

and so on.

You could say 'you persons', to be hyper-PC ... Why not just say 'you'? I personally find the expression 'you guys' intensely irritating.
