I don't know, but conservatives seem to believe that their politicians are innately good and can do no wrong. Conservatives also believe that liberal politicians are evil and can do no right.

I am a conservative and I believe that people are basically good. There is a small percentage of people that take advantage of everyone around them. Those people are bad.

Unfortunately that small percentage of people cause most of the problems in society and the world.

No the Torys believe in Freedom and small government that aint in your face 24 hours a day screwing every penny they can out of ya while telling lies to get you to support their Crack-pot communist Ideas. Unlike Labour who you no-doubt voted in cos your a band-waggon jumper......
The Torys are the ones who went to the top schools and actually learned politics and debating and business. They have the greatest minds in the country unlike most of the labour party who went to the same sh*t schools we did and learnt NOTHING !! They just try the first thing that pops into their tiny minds.
P.S this answer is the British conservatives !! dont know about America apart from Bush is a Kn*b-Head.

Yes, I think so.

I think this is the source of most of the conflict between liberals and conservatives.

Conservatives are certainly pessimistic and punitive. Part of the reason I'm a liberal is that I have more faith in the goodness of the human race.

No: Conservatives believe in a small government, self reliance, and a balanced budget. There are no Conservatives in the modern "Republican" party.

No, not at all. The vast majority of people are decent people who are looking out for what is best for their family and community. Most people are generally trustworthy and will do the right thing. It is that small minority that wishes to use and abuse others that you have to watch out for.

No, it's the opposite. Liberals do not think that we cannot manage to take care of ourselves thus require government handouts to get by. Conservatives believe that people have the abilities to get out of any problems by our own devices if we have the commitment.

It is exactly the opposite. Republicans believe the average American is self reliant while a liberal believes everything needs to be done for them. Free food, free rent, free health insurance, etc. Notice a trend, free. They want everything for free and don't want to earn anything. Liberals feel the average American is to stupid to take care of themselves and therefore regulate and tax everything. Why do you think the bottom of society votes the majority liberal? Free everything.

if that is the case, then the republicans are hypocrites because most of them are associated with the christian fundamentalist right, and claim to be born again christians and that means that they should belive that most people are good, despite being sinners! the liberals? who knows what goes through their sick, twisted minds? I SAY! THROW OUT!! ALL THE REPUBLICANS AND LIBERAL DEMOCRATS, AND START A NEW POLITICAL PARTY!

We are born bad, and we learn how to have manners and respect for others when our parents discipline us. Sad to say but some people never learn this.
