Why are so many of them cramming useless gadgets into their phones when they haven't gotten the phones right yet? I don't need a camera or MP3 player in my phone and, even if I did, the ones they put in phones are no good. The main reason to get a cell phone is to make phone calls. Why don't they stop worrying about these gadgets and get the phones working right? Then, once they have the phones right, if they want to add extras, go ahead.

They do it because so many people in the US are caught up in "keeping up with the Jones" and looking cool. It matters more to a lot of people that they have the latest and greatest "toy", they don't care if they need it or not. It's the same with a lot of other products, cars for example...how many cup holders or vanity mirrors do you need. They even have refrigerated glove boxes and heated or cooled cup holders now! How about getting more than 30 miles a gallon, my 11 year old Honda has been doing that all along. Have you seen the refrigerators with a TV in the door? Come on! So back to the issue, the cell phone manufacturers realize that putting a bunch of "pretty bells and whistles" on their phones will increase the number that they sell and thus increase their profits! So there's what's up...the cell phone companies only care about making more money, it's easier to make money with inferior products that are cheap but popular than it is to make a quality product. I'm with you...I'll by a camera if I need one, I'll buy a music player if I need one. Why settle for inferior crap just because it's all packaged up pretty?
