some are directly under the seat, and u have to take the seat off to get to the battery. in the bikes i've had....cruisers....on the yamaha, it was on the right side side compartment, on my sportster, it's on the left side compartment. they're still basically under the seat, but i dont have to take my seat off to get to the battery. pop a side cover off, and there it is.

It's usually in the area under the seat. How to get at it depends on the motorcycle. On some, you have to lift or remove the seat. On others, access is by removing a side cover.

one of two places. Either under the seat or in a battery compartment. Some bikes you'll have to remove the seat, and you'll be able to spot it right away, and on others, on either side of the seat there are two compartments with panel covers. These are usually held in place with rubber mounts that you pull the cover off, to expose the battery.

While most are under the seat sometimes the way to access them is thru the side cover. It would help to know what type of motorcycle it is.

usually under the seat, but on some bikes it can only be accessed from below, just in front of the rear wheelor from behind one of the side covers. You should be able to see it if you lift the seat, or remove one of the side covers.

And don't worry - the only really dumb question is the one you don't ask.
